By providing financial support to exceptionally talented children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, we aim to unlock the potential of young minds and nurture future leaders who will contribute meaningfully to society.
A Catalyst for Change Education is a powerful tool for social transformation. At the D V Kapur Foundation, we believe that by identifying and empowering gifted children, we can create a ripple effect that benefits communities and society at large. Our primary focus is to support the education of these children, ensuring that financial constraints do not stand in the way of their success.
We have already taken our first steps by selecting three children with exceptionally high IQ levels, as tested by Mensa India, for financial assistance. Over time, we plan to extend our support to 50-60 children, allowing them to pursue their dreams and aspirations without financial barriers.
Innovation drives progress by solving challenges, optimizing resources, and improving lives. It fosters economic growth, creates jobs, and addresses socio-economic issues.
The DVK Foundation awards are designed to recognize and reward indigenous innovations that are accelerating India’s clean energy transition. This award aims to catalyse advancements in cutting-edge energy technologies, from materials and processes to commercial applications. The awards will highlight and support groundbreaking projects in the clean energy domain, offering a platform for recognition and visibility to emerging technologies. By facilitating market entry for homegrown clean energy products, the award will spotlight the innovative achievements of companies and organizations that prioritize in-house development. Additionally, through this effort, the foundation hopes to inspire the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs, contributing to India’s leadership in the global shift towards sustainable and renewable energy sources.

DVK Foundation is constituting awards to recognize the contributions and efforts of scientists/technocrats for innovation in various fields pertaining to energy sector. The awards aim to acknowledge and promote indigenous technological innovations that contribute to the clean energy transition in India.
Establishment of D V Kapur Foundation was announced on 9 September 2023, 95th birthday of D V Kapur. DVK family simultaneously donated Rs. 1.00 crore and committed to make similar donations annually during next few years. Accordingly, additional Rs. 1.00 crore has also been donated for 2024-25.
The Foundation kickstarted charitable activities with selection of three Mensa tested high IQ gifted children from EWS families with financial support of over 1,46,000 during year 2023-24 and annual support till completion of class XII. Such assistance is likely to be on a larger scale during 2024-25 and following years.
The Foundation has also instituted prestigious prizes, one for Rs. 10 lacs and two of Rs. 1 lac each to young professionals, to be awarded annually for Energy Innovations. With larger corpus in future, Trustees also intend to increase prize amounts and also institute additional awards to catalyze R&D and innovations in Energy related fields.
