The D V Kapur Foundation, also known as the DVK Foundation, has been conceived by Shri Dharam Vir Kapur, the renowned veteran institution builder, technologist, and visionary, as a vehicle to identify and nurture brilliant young talent at the school level, and also at the professional technical level, which will help erect the change leaders of a developed India.

The carefully constituted Foundation and its Founding Trustees, have been unanimous in launching a vehicle and a mechanism which will ensure the integrity of the process of selection of outstanding talent, and fund management, so that the D V Kapur Awards become the catalyst for identifying and nurturing young and professional talent across India. The Trust does not wish to establish educational or technical institutions. It intends assessing this talent scientifically and rationally at school level, particularly among the underprivileged groups, so that the transparently identified genius of tomorrow gets the necessary support and encouragement at school level.

Thereafter, young professionals engaged at the cutting edge of technology in institutions, commercial establishments or elsewhere are also identified and bestowed prestige and recognition at the appropriate stage in two age groups for the present.

The Founding Trustees are unanimous and determined to support the Vision of Shri D V Kapur, and are confident that the Kapur family will carry the ideals of the Founder and the Founding Trustees, and ensure that the Trust becomes a unique seeding institution, as a path breaker for a technologically and economically developed India in the very near future.

The Trust wishes to ensure processes that are result oriented, and will inspire and encourage generous support from like minded institutions and benevolent funds.

The Trustees believe that India has world class technological and scientific talent, in various age groups. It needs to be identified, supported and encouraged at the appropriate stage.
